On April 26, 2023, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, in collaboration with specialists from the Health Inspectorate, organized training for representatives of the National Healthy Municipalities Network on water safety issues and promoting health literacy among municipal residents.
Representatives of the “Swim Safely” organization, Zane Gemze and Toms Jēkabsons, discussed the organization, supervision, and safe use of swimming areas for recreation at and in the water. They also taught the basic principles of safe behavior at and in the water, as well as emphasized the importance of swimming skills as a life-saving skill.
