Time of the event: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
During the camp, the children started the day with morning exercises, improved swimming skills, life-saving skills, got acquainted with various sports, and also performed various general developmental physical exercises in the swimming pool.
The lessons were conducted by certified swimming and sports coaches.
The purpose of the camp: to organise high-quality and diverse recreation for children and young people during the summer holidays. By involving children in various sports activities, develop mutual communication skills and interest in a healthy lifestyle, as well as promote understanding of the basics of safe recreation near the water.
On 17 July, President of the State, Egils Levits, visited Ikšķile beach during a trip of the camp. He met with Zane Gemze, founder of the “Swim Safe” association, Aivaras Platonov, president of the Latvian Swimming Federation, and the children of the camp to discuss the dramatic situation that arises when people die while relaxing by the water.
